Volunteering

As a non-profit organization, we rely heavily on volunteers. As a volunteer, you are vitally important to the work of helping us help animals. Each task that you perform, even though seemingly routine or small, adds up to a significant contribution to the mission of this society. We value your participation and hope that the time you spend with the Saint John SPCA will be equally rewarding for you.

Volunteers are needed for a variety of events and fundraising functions such as fairs, mall displays and other community events where the SPCA promotes animal welfare. Volunteers go into schools to do presentations on responsible pet care, dog bite safety and the role of the SPCA in the community. Empathy building and critical thinking skills are emphasized. Join our dynamic team of animal lovers!

Fundraising
The fundraising committee is always looking for enthusiastic new helpers, with or without previous fundraising experience. You can help on existing projects, work at developing new fundraising ideas with the group or individually. Please contact us by email at info@saintjohnspca.com.

Foster Care Services
We are working to increase the number of Foster Care volunteers. This program includes temporary foster care in the home of the volunteer for animals, animals that are too young for adoption and those animals that have socialization needs. To volunteer with the SPCA as a member of the fundraising committee or as a Foster Parent, please phone (506) 849-0102.
